Anxiety & Trauma Therapy for Young Adults
Westchester, New York & Online
I’m Emily. A Westchester licensed Art Therapist and anxiety specialist helping young adults, ages 18-26
I hold sixteen-years of clinical experience working with teens and young adults who struggle with anxiety, complex trauma, and relational challenges.
My approach to therapy integrates evidence-based approaches, such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), and Mindfulness practices with Art Therapy.
I help young adults create new ways of relating to themselves and others.
I work with young adults are finding themselves, feel lost, or are in the midst of changes, transitions and big life choices. They may feel stuck or overwhelmed.
Experiencing anxiety, chronic stress, relationship difficulties or unprocessed trauma can significantly impact how they see themselves, and others.
There’s a different path forward.
“Healing is not becoming the best version of yourself. It’s letting the worst version of yourself be loved. Healing is saying every single version of me deserves love, deserves tenderness, deserves grace.”
— Nicole Cameron

Why a mind-body and creative approach to therapy works for young adults
Traditional talk therapy can feel intimidating and overwhelming. On top of that, traditional therapy typically only accesses your ‘thinking brain’ or prefrontal cortex in sessions.
Since experiences of anxiety and traumatic stress are stored in your mind, body and nervous system, traditional talk therapy alone doesn’t work for some people.. AND…that’s why many people can’t just ‘think’ or reframe their way out of anxiety.
In order to heal from trauma, anxiety, and chronic stress responses, it’s critical to integrate limbic-system healing.
I specialize in limbic system therapies such as Mindful Therapy, Somatic awareness, Art Therapy and EMDR to get to the root of healing anxiety, and traumatic stress.
