Emily Davenport, ATR-BC, LCAT, LPAT
Emily Davenport is a NY and NJ licensed board-certified Art Therapist, published author, supervisor, parent of three, and mental wellness expert.
Drawing on her background in school-based mental health and program development, she specializes in anxiety and trauma treatment, coaching, and workplace wellness initiatives. With over 16-years of clinical experience, integrating behavior modification principals, mindfulness strategies, and creative Art Therapy interventions to create a non-pathologizing approach to wellbeing.
Emily’s trauma-informed approach is rooted in evidence-based, somatic, and creative healing methods. Specialities include; Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and Art Therapy.
With over 16-years of clinical experience, Emily has worked across a range of treatment settings, including Bronx Psychiatric Center, New York City Children’s Center, New Hope Mental Health Counseling Center, and The Renfrew Center, where she supported individuals with complex mental health needs across the lifespan.
As the former owner of a group practice, Emily led a team of therapists while overseeing clinical operations and care coordination for more than 130 clients.
Beyond the therapy office, Emily brings her expertise into corporate wellness spaces as a behavioral health consultant and workshop facilitator, partnering with organizations to strengthen employee wellbeing through trainings, workshops, and mental health education. She serves on New York University Art Therapy Department Advisory Committee, where she helps shape best practices for the next generation of art therapists.
Mrs. Davenport has been featured in numerous media outlets such as; Forbes, Martha Stewart, Insider Weekly, Bustle, Buffalo News, and Mind Body Radio where she advocates for the power of Art Therapy. Her debut book, Social Skills For Teens With Anxiety, was published by Callisto Media, an imprint of sourcebooks, in 2025.
Emily holds a Master’s degree in Art Therapy from New York University and a Bachelor's in Communication Design from Pratt Institute. She completed clinical internship training at Four Winds Hospital and The Jewish Board for Family and Children’s Services. Her Masters thesis examined the intersection of Art Therapy and Mindfulness through an attachment lens. Among her accomplishments, her proudest role is mothering three children.
