My beliefs as a therapist

  • Unhelpful behaviors are a sign of survival, not pathology.

  • People are doing their best, and need compassionate support to learn new skills

  • Everyone is innately resilient

  • Clients cannot fail, but therapy can

Teen & Adult Specialties

Attachment Trauma

Attachment trauma can happen when parents or primary caregivers are abusive, inconsistent, invalidating, immature, or emotionally unavailable.

People Pleasing & Perfectionism

People pleasing and perfectionism are survival strategies that people develop after going through experiences where acceptance felt conditional or unpredictable .

Anxiety & Panic

Anxiety may show up as replaying what you said or did “wrong”, difficulty relaxing, catastrophizing, future thinking, muscle tension, or feeling “on-edge”.

Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

Treatment for due to distressing life event(s) such as an assault, abuse, bullying, medical trauma, or other terrifying experiences.

Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (C-PTSD)

C-PTSD is a response to long-term, relational trauma — like childhood abuse, neglect, parentification, or domestic violence — and often leads to chronic shame, guilt, low self-worth, and struggles with close relationships.

Parenting

Coaching for parents who are stuck in power struggles or who simply want better resources to parent more effectively.

Unhelpful Behavioral patterns

Unhelpful behaviors are a sign of survival, not pathology. Examples include drinking, drug use, self-harm, eating disordered behaviors, or choosing unavailable partners.

Anger & Rage

Anger is a healthy emotion. However, when anger and rage are showing up often, it may be a sign of deeper unprocessed emotions, experiences and unmet needs.

Self-Worth & Relationships

Healthy relationships start with a strong sense of self-worth. When you believe you are deserving of respect, care, and love, you naturally set better boundaries.

Treatment Modalities

What’s it like to work with an Art Therapist?

  • Talk Therapy: As a Licensed Art Therapist, I’m trained in talk therapies, too! The amount of ‘talk’ therapy differs depending on my clients needs.

  • Art Making: We’ll explore creative modalities such as creative writing, drawing, painting (and more) to help you express, connect and heal.

  • Mindfulness: I regularly use trauma-informed breath work, guided meditation and visualizations to help you regulate stress and feel more safe in your body and help you settle your nervous system.

  • Evidence-Based Techniques: We’ll engage in therapies such as Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Skills in addition to creative and mindful modalities.
