Emily Davenport, Founder & Clinical Director

Emily Davenport ATR-BC, LCAT,  is the Founder & Clinical Director at Davenport Creative Arts Therapy. Emily is a Nationally Registered / Board-Certified Art Therapist, and New York State Licensed Creative Arts Therapist.

Prior to founding Davenport Creative Arts Therapy, Emily’s clinical experience includes working with teens and adults at Bronx Psychiatric Center, New Hope Mental Health Counseling Center, New York City Children’s Center andThe Renfrew Center for Eating Disorder Treatment. In addition to Art Therapy, Emily holds intensive training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) through The Treatment Implementation Collaborative, and training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). She is a Certified Nurtured Heart Practitioner through the Nurtured Heart Institute. 

Emily has been featured in media outlets such as Forbes, Bustle, Insider Weekly, and numerous podcasts. Emily serves on New York University’s Art Therapy Department Advisory Committee and is an affiliated clinical internship supervisor. Emily holds a BFA in Communication Design from Pratt Institute and a MA in Art Therapy from New York University. Her approach is warm, relatable, and collaborative.
